Emilie's opinion

The perfect picturesque holiday escape on the Devon and Cornwall border with unique self-catering accommodation, a luxury spa and restaurant and 17 lakes for fishing and watersports. Stay in a cosy holiday Lodge or Apartment, or try something a little more unusual, such as a Lake Pod, Floating Lodge or a Luxury Cocoon - unique to Clawford Lakes and the ultimate in glamping. Spend your days relaxing in the luxury spa with treatment rooms, sauna and indoor pool which overlooks the Leisure Lake. Go fishing on the lakes - there’s a tackle shop and fishing tuition too - or have a go at kayaking, paddleboarding or even open water swimming. There’s fun for all the family, with free Park Ranger activities in the school holidays, free bike hire, and evenings around the firepit with other guests. Enjoy drinks and meals at The Apple & Grape bar and restaurant, where terrace seating and al fresco indoor-outdoor dining makes the most of sunny days. If you’re keen to venture out and about too, the coast at Bude is just under half an hour away.

Set your body clock to Clawford time. A stunning location, close to two National Parks and a spectacular coastline ? and with so much to see and do ? all makes Clawford Lakes the ideal setting for summer holidays, spring, autumn and winter breaks.

Whether you’re a family, couple or group, make yourself at home in our modern, comfortable accommodations or even experience glamping too! You’re welcome all year round and there’s a Clawford Lakes break for everyone – not just fishermen!

Whether you’re fishing or paddle boarding on our lakes, watching your dog run through the estate or watching the marvellous wildlife that shares Clawford  with you, a visit to the seaside or a trip to The Eden Project, there’s so much to explore. You may find it hard to imagine that your total escape from the outside world is so much closer than you think.

Where the modern and natural worlds collide

At Clawford Lakes you’ll find a wonderful mix of modern comforts and natural beauty. Our well-equipped apartments sit lakeside, with views across the estate and beyond. Deer freely roams the valley and birds of prey soar above. In spring, our six-acre ancient woodland is a carpet of blue and yellow with bluebells and primroses. Right up to the winter months, wildflowers and butterflies are everywhere and dragonflies, damselflies, and kingfishers hover over the lakes. See for yourself what makes Clawford such a paradise.

Our exclusive lakeside Pool and Spa is the perfect place to unwind and reset your dial. In this idyllic location, the relaxing infinity pool reaches out over the water, seemingly merging with the lake and drawing your eye to the stunning valley views beyond. Here, while others in your group may choose to fish, cycle or walk the dog, you can while away a few peaceful hours, occasionally swapping the warm waters of the pool for the pure indulgence of the steam room. Opening hours: 09:00 – 19:00 every day.
